I have been interested in art since I was a young boy. I was an art major in college, and then spent seven years working with jewelry, both in the master carving department and creating metal master molds for rings, where I learned to carve in wax. Starting each piece by carving hard wax gives me a great deal of flexibility and creativity....

My older brother, Tom, was my source and inspiration for my own artwork. He was a very accomplished artist and was published in many popular art books. He always encouraged me and inspired me to do more. I lost Tom when I was 35 years old. At that point I felt like my art work took on a whole new life and a new energy. Today I have such love and gratitude for my brother and his influence on me....

I've also always had a love for wildlife. Having had the opportunity to live in many different parts of the U.S., I have discovered the uniqueness of each area and its wildlife and try to incorporate that into my art. I appreciate nature and strive to capture the true movement and grace of this earth's creatures in each piece I create....

As an artist I have a diversity of passions when it comes to carving and sculpture. I'm always striving to communicate with and capture the spirit of nature through the piece. I also enjoy branching out into other areas such as gothic, oriental, spiritual, and sometimes even abstract art. That's what's been so rewarding about creating my line of custom bronze door knockers -- the themes are endless and their appeal has something for everyone....

The idea of having an art piece that's aesthetic, functional, and bronze that you can touch is especially pleasing. It's also great to offer art with the option of personalizing the piece with an engraved family name or business on it....

Inspiration and subjects are everywhere in life. I want to keep my eyes open wide enough to see the beauty in all things and express my gratitude through my artwork....
